Description

The Credit Policy Manager is responsible for formulating, reviewing, and updating the company's credit policies to ensure they align with business goals and regulatory requirements. The role involves analyzing credit risks, managing approval frameworks, and implementing strategic initiatives to mitigate risks across all lending products. The manager will work closely with cross-functional teams, including risk management, finance, and sales, to drive sustainable growth.

Responsibilities
  • Policy Development: Create, revise, and implement credit policies and procedures that govern the organization’s credit risk management.
  • Risk Management: Develop risk assessment models and strategies to monitor and manage the credit risk of lending portfolios.
  • Approval Framework: Establish and oversee credit approval processes and ensure adherence to company policy and regulatory standards.
  • Portfolio Management: Monitor credit portfolio performance, identify trends, and take proactive measures to minimize delinquencies and losses.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with various teams such as Risk, Underwriting, Compliance, and Product Development to ensure cohesive credit policy implementation.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all credit policies comply with relevant legal and regulatory requirements, including local and international regulations.
  • Reporting: Generate periodic reports and analyses on credit performance, risks, and policy outcomes, presenting findings to senior management.
  • Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of credit analysts and other professionals involved in credit risk management.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously review and enhance credit policy processes to ensure they are efficient and in line with industry best practices.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in credit risk management, preferably in financial services.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing credit policies.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements in the credit industry.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
  • Leadership and team management experience.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present to senior stakeholders.
