Alibaba Cloud Will Host Its First Cloud Day in the Philippines in October
by Fintech News Philippines October 5, 2022Alibaba Cloud is hosting the Alibaba Cloud Summit Philippines 2022 on October 19th at the Grand Hyatt Manila, as it continues to provide customers with better services and greater value to accelerate business growth and digital transformation following the success of its Fintech Summit last June.
The summit is a full-day event centered around cloud innovation that aims to provide insightful industry-driven content, keynote speeches and panels from the banking, fintech, Web3.0 and media industries by Alibaba Cloud experts and industry leaders from BSP, Fintech Alliance, GCash, ABS-CBN, UBX and more.
What to expect at the Cloud Summit?
The summit will focus on helping audiences gain a deeper understanding of the full spectrum of cloud technology that can be used to further grow and scale your business. There will be numerous networking opportunities as well as two grand raffle prizes.
The agenda will kick off with a keynote session from the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Undersecretary, Jocelle Batapa-Sigue to encourage Philippine businesses and government agencies to embrace digital transformation and cloud computing.
USec Sigue will discuss the latest on the government’s cloud-first policy and the progress that the Philippines is making as a country towards digital transformation.
Who will attend the event?
Alibaba Cloud, together with DICT and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), will then launch the Cloud First Program that envisions strengthening the Philippine Ecosystem Alliance, committing to train 50,000 Filipino IT professionals and help 5,000 local businesses to migrate online by 2023.
Moreover, a number of industry talks from Fintech Alliance PH’s Chairman and RCBC’s Executive Vice President and Chief Innovation and Inclusion Officer Lito Villanueva, Nephila Web’s CEO Sheryl Villamoran, and CIBI’s Vice President & Head of Credit Bureau Justin Rotap on fintech trends and challenges, growth of e-learning, and data management in fintech respectively.
In between, there will be interactive panel sessions with UBX, Digital Pilipinas, BreederDAO, Draper House, and ABS-CBN, among others, to dive deep on industry pain points and tailor-fit cloud solutions for each.
