GCash Users Can Now Pay at Alipay+ Merchants in Six New Countriesby Fintech News Philippines November 7, 2023
Philippines’ e-wallet GCash has expanded the availability of ‘GCash Global Pay’ to now include six new markets namely South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, France, Italy, and the United Kingdom. This follows the initial launch of the service earlier this year.
GCash Global Pay offers users a convenient and secure way to pay at Alipay+ merchants in these countries using their GCash app. It eliminates the need to carry cash or exchange currencies, and it also offers competitive exchange rates and no service fees.
Additionally, GCash Global Pay users can access exclusive deals and promotions from international merchants through its partnership with Alipay+.
To use GCash Global Pay, users will need to look for the Alipay+ and GCash logo at the checkout counter. They will need to tap Pay Abroad with Alipay+ within the GCash app, and let the merchant scan their unique QR or scan the merchant’s QR code. Users will have to verify the amount and click “Pay” to receive their receipt.
In November, GCash will unveil a range of new features to enhance the GCash Global Pay experience for travelers. These features will include user-friendly access to real-time conversion rates and converted balances in the GCash wallet.
Paul Albano, VP General Manager for GCash International said,
“With the holidays approaching, we’re anticipating many Filipino travelers will soon be planning their vacations with their family and friends. With GCash Global Pay, we aim to make the travel experiences for Filipinos more enjoyable and stress-free. We’re excited to continue our partnership with Alipay+ and expand the capabilities of GCash to more destinations in Asia and beyond.”
