GCash, the Philippines’ leading finance app and largest cashless ecosystem, has entered into a collaboration with Meridian, an instant payments technology company based in New York City.
The partnership with Meridian enables the direct in-app transfer of funds from over 12,000 US banks to GCash accounts, allowing users to seamlessly transfer money from the United States to the Philippines.
GCash states that once the cash-in is completed, the service converts US dollar amounts into Philippine pesos using competitive foreign exchange rates. Each cash-in transaction incurs a one dollar fee.

GCash participated in the Philippines’ Independence Day celebrations in New York City, California, and Dubai, where it introduced new features designed to significantly enhance digital financial services for Filipinos living and working abroad.
Paul Albano, General Manager of GCash International, remarked,
“At GCash, we want to help with the most important thing for our countrymen abroad: how they can care for their families and maintain connections with their loved ones despite the distance.”
During a street fair in New York City that ran alongside the Independence Day parade, GCash showcased its partnerships with financial institutions like Meridian. This collaboration effectively integrates US-based financial services with the mobile wallet that is widely used across the Philippines.
GCash International’s Paul further stated,
“With GCash’s international expansion, this is exactly what we are doing. We’re making it possible for Filipinos overseas to take better control of their finances, and sending money to the Philippines is more convenient with our competitive rates.”
The announcement highlights GCash’s continued efforts to support the Filipino community worldwide by offering enhanced financial services and greater convenience for those living abroad.
