A public warning posted on GCash’s official Facebook page clarifies that the cryptocurrency platform Bitget lacks the necessary registration to operate in the Philippines.
The digital payments company also confirmed that no official affiliation or system integration exists between the two entities.
The announcement follows reports indicating that Bitget and similar platforms have allegedly been using the GCash logo and branding in their promotional materials without permission.
To address these concerns, the e-wallet operator is urging the public to remain vigilant.
GCash also strongly recommends its users to always verify the legitimacy and authorisation of any digital service before use, in order to maintain account security.
