Billease Partners with Rural Bank of Sta. Maria (RBSM) to Expand into Digital Banking
The collaboration will add new services to the Billease app, including digital savings accounts, fund transfers via InstaPay and PESONet, and QR payments.
The collaboration was announced at an event in Manila on 9 November 2025.
Founded in 2017, BillEase has served over 10 million users and has disbursed more than PHP 100 billion in loans.
Through its partnership with RBSM, Billease plans to roll out new features, including digital savings accounts, fund transfers via InstaPay and PESONet, QR payments, and cash-in/out services, all integrated within the Billease app.
The company aims for the full implementation of these features by the third quarter of 2026.
This move aligns with the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas’ (BSP) roadmap for a more inclusive, “cash-lite economy.”
Georg Steiger
“From day one, our goal has been to make credit simple and fair for every Filipino,” said Georg Steiger, Billease Co-Founder and CEO.
He added that through this partnership with RBSM, Billease is opening the door to a new era of inclusive digital-centred banking.
RBSM President and CEO Dennis Valdes stated that the partnership makes banking more accessible to Filipinos through technology.
He noted that users can enjoy the same security and compliance as traditional banking, but with the ease and innovation of fintech.
Steiger added, “Our partnership with RBSM marks a pivotal step toward a future where financial inclusion is the norm, not the exception.”
