The United States and the Philippines are accelerating plans to build a massive 4,000-acre AI technology hub zone in New Clark City, according to a report by Bloomberg.
This facility will serve as the first industrial acceleration zone under a major international technology alliance.
The Southeast Asian nation recently became the thirteenth member of the United States-led Pax Silica initiative.
This global coalition aims to secure resilient supply chains for artificial intelligence and advanced semiconductors.
The proposed industrial zone will operate entirely under local laws, according to government representatives.
United States Undersecretary of State for Economic Affairs Jacob Helberg recently visited the designated site.
Helberg noted that over a dozen American technology companies have already expressed interest in the development.
The project seeks to build a robust ecosystem by prioritising key sectors and attracting a major anchor tenant.
Local regulators revealed that several firms from the Middle East are also monitoring the investment opportunity.
The technology zone aims to integrate allied manufacturing networks and define global supply chain resilience.
Bases Conversion and Development Authority President Joshua Bingcang is leading the local implementation efforts.
Bingcang stated that the facility will generate quality jobs and help local enterprises participate in the global economy.
The development forms part of a broader government strategy to position the country as a regional technology powerhouse.
