Mark Anthony Perez has rejoined the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) to set up and lead its Advanced Analytics and Artificial Intelligence (AI) hub.
Perez announced the move in a LinkedIn post, noting that the BSP AI hub is part of the central bank’s Technology and Digital Innovation team under the Office of the Governor.
In the role, which began in May 2026, he will oversee teams covering data governance and architecture, data engineering and AI platforms, and analytics and data science applications.
The hub will support the BSP’s mandates across monetary policy and operations, financial supervision, currency management, payments and settlements, inclusive finance, and financial consumer protection.
Previous Roles in Analytics and Banking
Perez returns after three years and three months at Canada’s Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions, where he was Data Science Manager for Advanced Analytics.
He previously spent three years and seven months at the BSP, including as Director of Supervisory Analytics and as Bank Officer in the Payment System Oversight Department.
His earlier experience spans banking, consulting, payments governance and academia, with roles at Metropolitan Bank and Trust Company, Citi, BancNet, Accenture, De La Salle University and Centennial College.
At Metrobank, he was Senior Vice President and Head of Retail Banking, overseeing areas such as product management, customer analytics, digital channels, fraud management, service operations, marketing communications and customer experience.
He was also a Member of the Board of Directors at BancNet, where he worked on POS interoperability for ATM and debit cards, the Megalink-BancNet merger, and industry input for the National Retail Payments System.
