Interpol has issued a global red notice against Maria Francesca Tan as the authorities suspect her of orchestrating large-scale investment scams.
Philippine Securities and Exchange Commission officials formally requested this international alert. Regulators intend to bring the executive before local courts to face these allegations.
Global law enforcement agencies must now locate the MFT Group of Companies’ chief executive officer. Officers will provisionally arrest her while preparing for formal extradition proceedings.
Tan currently faces an active arrest warrant from the Taguig City Regional Trial Court. Most of it is for suspected violations of the Securities Regulation Code and the Cybercrime Prevention Act.
A separate court in Lipa City issued an additional arrest warrant with no recommended bail in March 2025 for alleged syndicated estafa.
The legal actions stem from an initial criminal complaint that the regulatory body filed with the Department of Justice in April 2024 against MFT Group and Foundry Ventures.
State prosecutors formally indicted Tan and other corporate officers in May 2025 over their suspected illegal capital raising activities.
Authorities allege the companies promised investors guaranteed returns ranging from 12% to 18% to supposedly finance corporate purchase orders.
Prosecutors stated the capital collection model resembles a Ponzi scheme that uses new participant funds to pay existing clients.
