MocaMoca, the digital lending platform operated by SEC-registered Copperstone Lending Inc., has surpassed 20 million active users in the Philippines, more than five years after its launch.
The app is also among the top 10 most-downloaded digital lending apps on Google Play in the country.
The milestone comes as more Filipinos turn to regulated digital lenders over informal credit sources.
Only 16% of adult borrowers currently choose formal financial institutions, according to BSP’s 2025 Consumer Finance and Inclusion Survey, while the World Bank’s 2025 Global Findex Report found that only about half of Filipino adults hold a formal financial account, below the East Asia and Pacific regional average.
A separate TransUnion Consumer Pulse Study for the second quarter of 2026 found that while nearly half of Filipinos intend to apply for credit, 60% abandon the process due to cost, eligibility requirements, or other barriers.
Women make up more than 60% of MocaMoca’s borrower base, a group Copperstone said has traditionally had limited access to formal credit for household and micro-enterprise needs.
The app offers collateral-free loans of up to PHP 50,000 through a fully digital application requiring only one government ID, with automated approvals that can disburse funds in as fast as five minutes.
Repayments and disbursements run through GCash, Maya, Coins.ph, and GrabPay.

“Many Filipinos still face barriers when accessing formal credit. Our goal is to remove those barriers through a lending experience that is simple, transparent, and built around the needs of borrowers,” said David Balamon, Chief Executive Officer of Copperstone Lending Inc.
A Brand Also Targeted by Impersonators
MocaMoca’s growth has come alongside repeated efforts to protect its brand from impersonation.
Copperstone said its internal investigation found the phone numbers and transactions cited in complaints were not part of its official systems, and has since reaffirmed that the real MocaMoca app is available only through Google Play and its verified channels.
