Paymentology, the issuer processor behind GoTyme Bank‘s card infrastructure, has confirmed its role in bringing Apple Pay to the Philippine digital bank’s roughly 10 million customers.
GoTyme became the first digital bank in the Philippines to support Apple Pay when the feature went live for its debit card customers on August 4, letting them add their card to Apple Wallet for contactless payments in stores, within apps and online.
Apple Pay uses tokenisation, assigning a unique Device Account Number rather than storing a customer’s actual card number on their device or sharing it with merchants.
Each transaction is authenticated using Face ID, Touch ID or a device passcode, adding a layer of security while keeping checkout fast.

“At GoTyme Bank, we’re constantly looking for ways to make banking simpler, safer and more rewarding for our customers,” said Nate Clarke, President and CEO of GoTyme Bank. “Bringing Apple Pay to GoTyme Bank customers in the Philippines gives them an easy and secure way to pay wherever they shop while continuing to earn rewards points on all their transactions. This is another step in our commitment to making everyday banking more beautiful and convenient for our customers.”
The launch sits within a broader shift in the Philippine payments market.
The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) has reported that digital payments now make up more than half of the country’s retail transactions, as more consumers move toward mobile-first banking and contactless payments.
Rising smartphone penetration is also driving demand for digital wallets and tokenised payment methods, making services such as Apple Pay an increasingly common feature among banks competing on convenience.

Together, we’re helping shape the future of digital payments in the Philippines.”
GoTyme describes itself as one of the fastest-growing digital banks in the Philippines, with roughly 10 million customers.
Paymentology positions itself as a global issuer processor working with banks and fintechs across several markets, including a number of digital banks in Southeast Asia.
