The companies signed the partnership on September 2, 2026, at Western Union’s office in Quezon City.
The arrangement combines Western Union’s network, which spans more than 200 countries and territories, with JuanPay’s reach in provincial markets and communities with strong ties to overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).
JuanPay’s outlets already offer services such as bills and loan payments, government transactions, and pharmacy services; customers will now be able to send and receive international transfers alongside those existing services.

“Their business model is very unique. I describe JuanPay as unique because if you look at our pedigree, our Western Union communities, we’re all about the overseas community. Their model is also about that, and their organisation is run by overseas communities,” said Ricardo Alair, Western Union’s Director for the Philippines, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands and Palau. “So, if you think about it, it’s really a strategic fit between two entities with the same vision.”
JuanPay, a subsidiary of ACM Group of Companies, marked its 12th anniversary around the time of the signing.
Rico Fernando M. Chico, Chairman of ACM Group of Companies, said JuanPay’s vision has always been to bring essential financial services closer to Filipino communities, and that the collaboration with Western Union brings together global connectivity with JuanPay’s community-based approach to access.
Western Union said physical locations remain important even as digital financial services grow.
Customers who prefer face-to-face transactions, or who live in areas with varying digital connectivity, are part of the reason why.
The company added that multi-service locations serving as one-stop shops have a vital role to play as customers seek more flexibility and convenience.
The partnership follows Western Union’s launch of an upgraded mobile app in the Philippines in October 2025, and adds another retail channel to its mix of physical and digital services in the country.
The tie-up also marks an important milestone in JuanPay’s mission to broaden financial access across the Philippines.
