Maya‘s Visa wallet cards are now available on Google Wallet and Google Pay, according to Manila Standard.
The rollout covers both physical and virtual Maya Visa cards, meaning all of Maya’s Visa cards, credit and wallet, are now supported.
This expands on Maya’s earlier Google Wallet and Google Pay rollout for credit cardholders in November 2025, when Maya was one of the first issuers in the Philippines to launch the technology.
Wallet cardholders can now pay using Google Pay across shops, public transport and tourist destinations.
Visa’s tokenisation technology powers Google Pay transactions, replacing actual card numbers with unique digital tokens.
This reduces fraud by preventing merchants from receiving cardholders’ real account information or devices from storing it.

“The Philippines is undergoing a rapid shift to contactless, digital payments, and Visa and Maya are playing a crucial role in enabling this transformation,” said Jeffrey V. Navarro, Country Manager for Visa Philippines.
“With every contactless transaction, we provide speed, convenience, and security for Filipino consumers, reinforcing adoption and trust in new payment technologies. This also aligns closely with the government’s vision to become a cash-lite economy.”
Shailesh Baidwan, Maya Group President and Maya Bank Co-Founder, said the update gives users the flexibility they expect for everyday purchases.
Visa research shows 71% of consumers across Asia-Pacific already prefer paying with mobile or smart devices over cash, while 97% of regional travellers prefer cards over carrying cash.
Maya joins other Philippine issuers extending Google Pay support beyond credit cards, following a similar move by EastWest Bank to bring its debit cards onto the platform.
