GCash is letting fully verified users open a brokerage account with AB Capital Securities Inc. directly within its app through GStocks PH, allowing investments in Philippine stocks starting at PHP 500, according to YugaTech.
Users can complete registration in minutes, fund their trading wallet, and invest in more than 280 companies listed on the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE).
To get started, users open the GCash app, select the GStocks PH icon from the Homepage or Invest tab, choose AB Capital Securities as their broker, and complete the application process.
GCash approves applications in real time.
Once registered, users can top up their trading wallet without transfer fees and place stock orders directly through the app.
The exchange executes orders only during trading hours and subjects them to order matching.
GCash says the service removes traditional barriers to stock investing by letting users open an account and manage investments without needing a separate bank account or broker outside the app.
The feature builds on GStocks PH’s original 2022 launch, a joint initiative between GCash, AB Capital Securities and the PSE.
Since then, GCash and AB Capital have scrapped the platform’s P20 broker commission fee in favour of a 0.25% flat rate, and added an IPO subscription feature letting users subscribe to shares directly through the app when companies first list on the PSE.
The Philippine stock market has seen growing participation through digital platforms.
PSE data shows local stock market accounts increased 27.3% to 3.64 million in 2025, up from 2.86 million in 2024.
Retail investors held 99.2% of these accounts, while online trading platforms and e-wallets accounted for 3.22 million, with digital accounts growing 30.5% year-on-year.
