Philippine Airlines (PAL) now accepts Apple Pay, the airline posted on Facebook, about two months after Apple’s payment service launched in the Philippines.
The addition gives passengers another way to pay the flag carrier.
PAL’s existing options in its Manage My Booking facility include credit and debit cards, PayPal, GCash, GrabPay and Alipay, according to the airline’s booking FAQ.
Which Cards Work with Apple Pay
Apple Pay launched in the Philippines on 4 August with support from Chinabank, GoTyme Bank, Metrobank and UnionBank.
Cardholders with an eligible Visa or Mastercard debit, credit or prepaid card from these banks can add it to Apple Pay on iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad and Mac, according to Apple.
These banks don’t support every card they issue, so users should check eligibility with their issuer. Apple has said it expects more banks to join over time.
At launch, Apple Pay was available in the apps and on the websites of merchants including foodpanda, Jollibee, Rustan’s and Shopee.
Maya Business also said it would enable the service for more than 5,000 online merchants.
