UNO Digital Bank has apologised for placing its digital banking services under unscheduled maintenance without warning, saying the disruption did not affect customer funds or account balances, according to a statement posted on its Facebook page.
The bank said it began the maintenance on 11 October as a precaution after identifying technical issues with its systems. It was also continuing its move to the upgraded UNO 2.0 platform at the time.
Because the maintenance had to start immediately, UNO said it could not notify customers in advance.
Services Being Restored
As of 14 October, customers could access the UNO app and view their account activity, the bank said.
It was gradually restoring its other banking services and expected that work to be completed the same day.
UNO said it is monitoring system performance and will share updates through its official channels.
To thank affected funded customers for their patience, the bank is offering additional bonus interest on eligible savings accounts.
It did not say how much the bonus is or which accounts qualify.
UNO is licensed and regulated by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), and deposits are insured by the Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation up to PHP 1 million per depositor.
Second Disruption This Year
The maintenance follows an incident in April, when customers reported missing funds and unusual InstaPay transactions over the Holy Week break, BitPinas reported.
UNO later said it had corrected all affected transactions and restored customer balances. It also offered a temporary interest rate boost to customers at the time, as Manila Standard noted.
