Atome, Mastercard Unveil Card Feature with Gaming Credits and Rewards Exchange

Atome has collaborated with Mastercard to enhance the gaming experience for its users in the Philippines. This collaboration enables Atome Card holders to convert their Atome rewards points into gaming credits through the Mastercard Gamer Xchange (MGX).

The initiative is a straightforward solution for consumers wishing to exchange rewards points for gaming credits across almost 4,000 popular gaming titles. The 2023 Global Digital Report by Meltwater and We Are Social identifies the Philippines as the top gaming nation worldwide, with more than 95% of Filipino internet users aged 16 to 64 participating in online gaming.

Magic Tang, Atome‘s Head of Cards Business, noted the interest in the Atome Card, especially among the digital-native Gen Z and millennial users in the Philippines, with online purchases being one of the card’s main uses.

She pointed out that MGX introduces an innovative and seamless redemption option catering to various gaming demographics, from eSports fans to console and smartphone gaming enthusiasts.

Kaveri added.

For a limited period until March, gaming aficionados have the opportunity to acquire up to PHP 2,000 worth of gaming credits when shopping with the Atome Card.

Atome also recently launched an updated version of the Atome Card, providing Filipino consumers with enhanced flexibility for their shopping needs. The improved card allows users to “Buy Now Pay Later” wherever Mastercard is accepted, including in-store, online, or abroad. New features include enabling users to opt for “Pay in 3” or “Pay in 6” month instalments..

Upon approval of their application, consumers receive a pre-paid card, available as both a virtual and physical card, with a potential spending limit of up to PHP 200,000, dependent on the individual’s credit assessment. Cardholders can also manage their payment instalment schedules directly within the Atome mobile app, for a seamless shopping experience.
