GoTyme Bank and the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) have signed a subscription contract to integrate National ID Authentication Services (NIDAS) directly into the GoTyme Bank app.
The deal, signed today at Bridgetown in Quezon City, lets GoTyme verify a new customer’s identity in real time against the National ID registry during account opening.
The integration means GoTyme can confirm a customer’s identity directly against PSA’s registry rather than relying solely on manually submitted documents.
Both organisations framed the move as a step toward faster, more secure onboarding; GoTyme said in its own announcement that the tie-up makes opening an account “faster, simpler, and more accessible for Filipinos.”
The move builds on a September 2024 agreement between the two organisations that let unbanked Filipinos who registered for the National ID open free GoTyme accounts through mobile registration drives, which Fintech News Philippines covered at the time.
GoTyme’s integration adds to a growing list of institutions using NIDAS, the verification layer built on top of PhilSys under Republic Act No. 11055.
The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas has directed its supervised banks and non-bank institutions to accept the National ID and make fuller use of NIDAS for verification.
Meanwhile, other lenders, including Asia United Bank, Bank of the Philippine Islands, and most recently, the Philippine National Bank, have already built NIDAS into their own digital onboarding.
PSA data show more than 56 million authentications had been recorded through NIDAS as of September 2025, with financial services among the largest use cases alongside social protection programmes.
GoTyme becomes the latest addition to that list, with onboarding for its app-based account opening now running through the national registry.
