The service uses real-time verification powered by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), letting clients open accounts through Landbank and OFBank’s mobile banking app or digital onboarding website without presenting or uploading a physical government-issued ID.
Landbank said the volume reflects strong demand for accessible financial services among Filipinos.

“Together with OFBank, PSA, and DICT, we are leveraging technology to make banking accessible to every Filipino,” said Landbank President and CEO Lynette Ortiz. “Enabling real-time National ID verification marks a major milestone in digital onboarding, reinforcing Landbank’s leadership in driving financial inclusion.”
OFBank President and CEO Leila Martin said the initiative benefits overseas Filipinos in particular, making account opening “simpler, faster, and more convenient” for them and their families regardless of distance.
Landbank, OFBank, DICT and the PSA signed the National ID Authentication Services (NIDAS) Subscription Contract on August 14, formalising NIDAS as the primary proof of identity across their onboarding platforms.
Landbank joins a growing list of financial institutions connected to NIDAS, including BPI, GoTyme Bank, Asia United Bank and GCash.
BPI has reported a 50% increase in account openings since adopting the same facial-matching approach, with 85% of its new accounts now using National ID verification, based on earlier coverage of Landbank’s rollout.
