FinScore has appointed Angel Dimitrov as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Country Manager.
The company provides alternative credit scoring solutions in the Philippines, using telco data and other digital insights to support lending decisions.
Dimitrov, a founding member of FinScore since 2018, previously led the company’s data science and product teams.
He was instrumental in shaping FinScore’s alternative credit scoring models, ensuring their effectiveness in assessing creditworthiness among underbanked populations.
In his new role, he will oversee FinScore’s strategic direction, drive product development, and strengthen partnerships with financial institutions.
He brings over ten years of experience in fintech, data analytics, credit risk assessment, and fraud prevention.
Prior to joining FinScore, he held leadership roles at Cash Credit and Experian, contributing to credit facility rollouts, scoring model design, and underwriting strategies across markets including South Africa, Cameroon, Nigeria, and the Philippines.
As part of its latest efforts under Dimitrov’s leadership, FinScore is relaunching CrediView, its business intelligence and credit insights platform.
The tool aggregates telco scoring inquiries from more than 30 lenders in the country and offers risk-related data flags to support lending decisions.

“With CrediView, lenders can extend credit to more unbanked applicants while effectively reducing default rates.
By collecting, analysing, and transforming data from member contributors, CrediView equips financial institutions with actionable intelligence to optimise loan approvals and mitigate risks,”
said Dimitrov.
Dimitrov is also involved in supporting The Credit Risk Academy, FinScore’s online course designed to enhance the skills of financial professionals in interpreting and developing credit scoring models.
FinScore said Dimitrov’s appointment signals a new phase of growth as it expands its suite of AI-powered credit risk assessment tools to support smarter lending across the country.
