Hyperstacks, Inc., a leading Filipino digital banking infrastructure provider, and Ideem, a provider of bank-grade authentication technology, today announced a technology integration to deliver phishing-resistant passkey authentication to the country’s banks and BSP-regulated financial institutions.
The integration embeds Ideem’s Passkeys+ technology directly into Hyperstacks’ Composable Digital Banking platform, which enables digital banking channels for financial institutions and allows banks and EMIs to connect to the local payment rails – Instapay and PESONet.
To date, Hyperstacks powers 10 Philippine BSFIs across their portfolio.
Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Circular 1213 requires regulated institutions to move to phishing-resistant authentication, and the shift away from SMS one-time passwords is now a priority across the sector.
Institutions are looking for a path to compliance that does not require rebuilding the customer experience that their users already trust.
At the same time, they face a sharp rise in SMS one-time password interception, account takeover fraud, and credential phishing targeting digital banking customers, and need stronger authentication without the friction of hardware tokens or the brittleness of shared-secret OTPs.
The Hyperstacks and Ideem integration is built to meet both needs at once: a compliant, phishing-resistant layer that plugs into the rails banks already run on.
Greg Storm
“Filipino banks need authentication that is bound to the device, resistant to phishing, and BSP-compliant, without rebuilding the entire customer experience their users already trust,” said Greg Storm, Co-Founder and President at Ideem. “Hyperstacks already sits at the centre of how Philippine banks move money, which makes them an excellent partner to bring Passkeys+ to the institutions and customers who need it most.”
Graham Jimenez
“Every Philippine bank is asking the same question right now: how do we replace OTPs without disrupting the experience our customers already rely on?” said Graham Jimenez, Chief Executive Officer of Hyperstacks. “With Ideem’s Passkeys+ built into our platform, banks on our rails get a compliant, phishing-resistant authentication layer that is quick to switch on. It is not just a compliance box to check. It cuts fraud losses and gives customers a faster, simpler sign-in, and that is good for their business.”
What this means for Philippine banks and their customers: Hyperstacks can now deliver device-bound FIDO passkey authentication without a custom integration project.
Because Passkeys+ plugs into rails banks already run on, institutions can reach BSP compliance quickly rather than through a lengthy build.
Beyond compliance, banks eliminate the fraud losses tied to SMS OTP interception and account takeover, and replace OTPs with a smoother, password-free sign-in that works across mobile and web, improving login success and conversion.
The result is audit-ready evidence of phishing-resistant authentication and a stronger, lower-friction experience for every customer.
