In an effort to streamline and economise the transfer of its tokens to the Ronin blockchain network, Yield Guild Games (YGG) has joined forces with the cryptocurrency exchange Coins.ph.
This collaboration aims to alleviate the financial burden for those involved in YGG’s Guild Advancement Program (GAP) by facilitating a more cost-effective route for token transfer from Polygon to Ronin. This initiative is of particular relevance to the extensive YGG community in the Philippines, which numbers over 92,000 members, offering them a more straightforward and less costly means of managing their tokens.
The Philippines has emerged as a hub for web3 gaming, with Filipino gamers showing a marked interest in titles such as Axie Infinity and Pixels that utilise the Ronin network. Recognising this trend, Wei Zhou, CEO of Coins.ph, remarked on the company’s ambition to foster web3 adoption by providing solutions tailored to gamers among their 18 million users.
Zhou underscored the alignment between Coins.ph and YGG in their mission to enhance the gaming experience within the cryptocurrency landscape, stating,
“We are proud to be the first exchange in the Philippines to support YGG on the Ronin Network and will continue to collaborate with guilds, games, and the broader gaming ecosystem to empower gamers in the Philippines and beyond as we expand globally this year.”
Traditionally, transferring YGG tokens from the Polygon network to Ronin has been both costly and time-consuming, involving multiple steps and significant gas fees. The partnership seeks to simplify this process, allowing users to transfer their YGG tokens directly to Coins.ph and then to their Ronin wallet, thereby avoiding the cumbersome and expensive steps previously required.
The collaboration between YGG and Coins.ph is also set to include several events aimed at rewarding users who deposit and hold YGG tokens, along with trading competitions and promotions designed to reduce gas fees for Ronin withdrawals. The partnership will also correspond with the giveaway of exclusive merchandise and an airdrop campaign, details of which will be announced on the social media channels of YGG and Coins.ph.
Highlighting the significance of this partnership for the local community, Mench Dizon, YGG Pilipinas Country Head, reflected on the positive impact it will have on Filipino players’ ability to engage with the Ronin ecosystem.
“Our community has been contributing their skills and passion to the Ronin ecosystem since the early days, and this partnership with Coins.ph allows our players to gain better access to the ecosystem and participate in it more meaningfully,”
Mench commented.
This collaboration represents a strategic move to address the specific needs of the Filipino web3 gaming community, streamlining their engagement with digital currencies.
